Experts in computer sciences from AQU participate in a Tunisia seminar for establishing Master’s program in CPSs

Al-Quds University (AQU) recently participated in a three-day meeting held at the Higher Institute of Computer and Multimedia, University of Sfax, Tunisia, to discuss a proposed project for establishing joint Master’s program in Cyber-Physical Systems (MS@CPS).

The AQU’s team of experts, Dr. Rashid Jayousi, Dr. Isam Ishaq, Mr. Yazid Al-Badarin, joined a consortium of participants from eight international universities to discuss the current status and progress pertaining to the different packages of the multinational project of the aforementioned Master’s program.

MS@CPS is a collaborative effort undertaken by three European countries, namely Germany, Sweden, and the UK, and MENA countries, including Jordan, Palestine and Tunisia. Funded by the European Union within the Erasmus+ program, the project is intended to establish a Master’s program in Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs).

The newly-proposed multidisciplinary subject tackles the integration process between the various software and hardware technologies, while maintaining a user friendly and human secured computer environment.

The envisioned Master’s program will focus on the contemporary technologies in a multitude of important applications in our daily life, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous driving, smart phones, embedded systems, big data, semantic computing, and cloud computing, among other domains.

The partners plan to hold their next face-to-face meeting in March 2020 at the University of Hertfordshire, in Hatfield, UK. The meeting will feature training sessions on selected CPS topics to review the progress of the project and identify the next steps.

Al-Quds University is rapidly undergoing internationalization in an effort to exchange expertise with leading universities around the globe. It assigns great importance to building its distinctive profile while meeting the global standards to better meet the needs of the market inside Palestine and abroad.
